Mission: EnCompass uses child and adult development to provide students and their families with the resources and community to achieve optimal well–being in self, family and society.
History of the EnCompass Institute
EnCompass was incorporated as a 501(c)3 in 1985 to promote positive development by bringing awareness of child development to parents and teachers and by operating programs for children, schools and families. The organization came to Portland in 2003 bringing innovative programming to diverse organizations and families in Oregon and southern Washington.
Originally established by Ba and Josette Luvmour as a platform for Natural Learning Rhythms, an innovative theory of human development, EnCompass and the Luvmours have pioneered the field of whole family experiential learning with Family Camp, Family Weekend, Family Retreat, and Family Enrichment Programs.
