Vision: A community of families and professionals strengthened through sustainable family relationships and the experience of education providing the highest potential for self–actualization in all children.

Research Core

The Research core, coming in 2013, will provide a formal research framework for the continuous analysis, evaluation and improvement of our Natural Learning Rhythms pedagogy. It will provide continual refinement, innovation and direction for replicating the EnCompass Institute learning model while offering suggestions for program refinements and sharing results with families, scholars, policy–makers and the public.

The Research Core will also be a place for student from local universities to research and understand what we do at the EnCompass Institute and how we use the Natural Learning Rhythms approach to Human Development.

Why Family Involvement?:
  • According to a study conducted in 1999 by the National Science Foundation’s National Center for Education Statistics, students whose parents were highly involved in their lives showed success rates 30% higher than students with minimal parental involvement.
  • Other research shows parent, regardless of economic status, education leve, and/or cultural background, care deeply about their children’s education and can provide substantial support if given the opportunity and knowledge.
How does EnCompass promotes the Natural Learning Rhythm approach?

EnCompass has spent 25 years developing, teaching, and field testing ways to bring to awareness the needs and capacities of children. Ba and Josette Luvmour have developed Natural Learning Rhythms (NLR), an understandable and applicable approach to child development that describes in detail the psychological, emotional and physical components of optimal well-being and how these emerge within each stage of childhood.
